Spotube is an Android music and video player. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service (the Spotube application and this website).

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information.

Information Collection and Use #

Spotube is built with privacy in mind. Playback and preferences can stay on your phone. We do not operate a general user-account system of our own, and we do not ask for a Spotube password.

Depending on how you use the app, the following may be processed:

• Device and app information needed to run the Android app, such as OS version and app settings.
• Playback preferences stored locally, including theme, equalizer presets, and recent activity on the device.
• Optional Google or YouTube sign-in, if you choose it, so playlists and library items can sync through Google’s account services. Spotube does not receive your Google password.
• An email address, if you join the launch waitlist on this website.
• Support messages you send us, including the address you use to write in.

We use this information to provide the app, keep it working, answer support requests, send the Google Play launch note if you asked for it, and meet legal obligations. We do not use it to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell or rent it.

Information That Stays on Your Device #

Settings, cache, and other in-app data are stored on your Android device. You can clear them by using in-app reset options where available, or by clearing the app’s storage in Android settings, or by uninstalling Spotube.

This website uses your browser’s Local Storage solely to remember UI presentation preferences, such as Dark Mode or Light Mode. No personal identity indicators are tied to this.

YouTube API Services #

Spotube uses YouTube API Services to search, display metadata, and play publicly available music and video. By using those features you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Data processed through YouTube API Services is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

If you sign in with a Google or YouTube account, Google may process account-related data so the app can show subscriptions, likes, watch history, recommendations, or library items, according to the permissions you grant and Google’s policies. You can revoke access from your Google account permissions at any time.

Service Providers #

The Android app is distributed through Google Play and may use Google Play Services. Playback, sign-in, Android Auto, and related features may also call Google or YouTube services. Those companies process technical information under their own policies.

The app and this website do not currently include third-party advertising networks or our own analytics SDK. If that changes, this policy will be updated before those services go live.

Website and Waitlist #

This website acts as a product landing page for the Google Play launch. We do not require account creation to view the site. If you submit the waitlist form, we use that email only to tell you when Spotube is live on Google Play.

Standard web infrastructure hosts may capture basic server-level logs (such as request timestamps, IP address, and browser user-agents) purely for security maintenance, but this data is not used for marketing.

Log Data #

When you use our Service, in case of an error in the app, data and information may be written to Log Data. On the mobile application, this includes details like your device IP address, device name, operating system version, and internal runtime configurations — but none of this information leaves your device. It is saved within a local log-file under your access, unless you choose to send it when you contact support.

Security #

We value your trust in using our platforms, and we strive to handle data using commercially acceptable protective protocols. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of digital storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee absolute network safety.

This Service contains links to third-party sites, including Google Play. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. These external platforms are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children’s Privacy #

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our records. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take the necessary actions. YouTube and Google may impose their own age requirements where you sign in.

Changes to This Privacy Policy #

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to accommodate adjustments to the app, the Play listing, or the law. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any modifications by posting the new text onto this privacy page.
